Walpole’s Crafted programme was founded in 2007 by Guy Salter OBE MVO with the aim of finding and nurturing talented craftspeople, keeping their skills alive and showcasing their talents to a wider audience. The programme has set out to foster a sense of entrepreneurialism in highly skilled artisans, from cabinet makers to ceramicists, milliners to textile designers and printers and to develop the commercial side of their business.

Part of the programme includes providing one-to-one mentorship and a series of developmental workshops with some of the UK’s leading luxury leaders on topics such as PR & Marketing, Intellectual Property, Finance, HR, Digital and so on.

Hudson Walker International was delighted to be invited to a recent workshop on ‘How to Sell’ which included how to promote oneself and one’s business as an outstanding employer, such that the best candidates want to work for you.

Pauline Hudson-Evans, Co-Founder & Director of Hudson Walker International, spoke about the recruitment process, the different ways in which to source candidates, interview and assess them. She also spoke about employee engagement, which plays an increasingly important part in recruitment. An engaged culture spreads a company’s reputation and enhances the attraction of working there.
