Global Head of Commercial


The Client:

An established menswear brand represented globally in major luxury department stores and through its own retail channels both on and offline.  The brand has seen significant growth in its wholesale and online business due to strong collections and a surge in press activity. 

The Brief:

They were ready for the next phase of their evolution. The CEO wanted to grow wholesale by opening more doors with independent boutiques, establish more retail stores in major cities and engineer a new ecommerce platform.

The Search:

The brief took us in a different direction for this search. The client was a very creative-driven business, so felt they needed a product savvy commercial manager. This person would have business acumen and creativity in equal measure and would need to be close to the product to better understand where it should be positioned in the market. The commercial manager would lead on all sales, marketing and product management strategies so our challenge was to find a candidate who had a proven track record in growing revenue channels, coupled with a flair for design and product development. Naturally, the search identified a niche assemblage. Two candidates were taken through the interview process to final stage. Both had creative backgrounds and had each developed their career in wholesale sales and business development.

The Placement:

The client found it a tough decision but in the end opted for a the candidate who had a real eye for detail, a very creative mindset and an extensive career in sales with business success stories to share. This individual understood the design and development process and had implemented lucrative expansion plans for previous employers. They joined our client as Global Head of Commercial and have impacted positively on the business.
