A unique opportunity to immerse yourself in art takes place during Mayfair Art Weekend from 30th June to 2nd July 2017 when more than 60 galleries, artists and auction houses, together with the Royal Academy of Arts and Brown’s Hotel, celebrate Mayfair as a vibrant hub of talent, creativity, craftsmanship and production.
The weekend will offer a programme of free talks, walks and events providing the public with an insight into this unique art district and a chance to experience the unparalleled artistic knowledge, quality and diversity to be found within Mayfair’s art community.
The Royal Academy will be the hub, with the RA courtyard offering a place to eat, drink and listen to music while engaging in creative workshops, discovering site-specific installations and performances.
Tim Marlow, Vanessa Jackson RA, Charles Saumarez Smith and Kate Goodwin will also be hosting ‘On the Beanbag’, a series of informal conversations with artists, gallerists and initiatives such as ARTiculation – a forum for young people to express their ideas on art. Talks will take place throughout the day in the RA’s courtyard on large-scale beanbags made from prints by Yinka Shonibare RA.
