Born in an ancient town between Bordeaux and Cognac, educated at the Sorbonne and King’s College London, she trained and practised as a lawyer before becoming an investment banker in the City of London –  a foreigner and a female in a male-dominated sector….. Sounds like a fascinating fictional character!

But in fact Freddie P Peters lived that life for more than 25 years – and then gave it all up to become a professional writer.

Collapse, the first book in her ‘Henry Crowne: Paying the Price’ trilogy was this week launched at a fabulous party at the Groucho Club in Soho where Freddie shared candid insights into her journey from the corporate world to that of a published author. She then read an extract from the book which had guests clamouring to hear more.

Freddie always loved to tell stories; as a child she was forever dreaming up new plots to entertain her family and friends. Having, in her own words, ‘lost the plot for a considerable number of years in investment banking,’ she – and we – are delighted that she has found it again as a writer.   Congratulations Freddie on a wonderful achievement!

If you liked The Big Shot, The Fear Index and A Week in December, you will love the twists and turns of this fast-paced financial and espionage thriller.
