In today’s culture there is a tangible pressure to make ‘right’ decisions that keep in time with the fast paced rhythm of the world. However, we forget that making a choice is a courageous act in itself.
This was the premise of Yonder Collective’s latest event on a chilly night in London recently when more than 60 individuals gathered to share conversation and ideas over good food, gin cocktails and wine.
With the theme of ‘Cultivating the Courageous’ guests considered how inspiring decisions can be made with confidence, that courage is cultivated through the small decisions we make every day and, indeed, that we can generate great confidence and belief in ourselves.
Courage, confidence and inspiration were epitomized perfectly by guest speaker Charlotte Instone, the co-founder of Know The Origin, a London-based Fairtrade and organic ethical fashion brand which creates stylish basics for men and women. Charlotte spoke about her reasons for setting up her company and her belief that the future of fashion is transparent, ethical and sustainable. Know The Origin is committed to a 100% transparent production process and supply chain which treats people and the planet fairly.
The event was created in collaboration with Caravan Restaurants, Karma Cans (seasonal lunches delivery), Bloaum (a London-based floral design studio), Katerina Kerouli (illustrator and designer with a passion for floral prints), Victory Spirits (a modern distillery in the heart of London) and Katie McAtackney (a photographer exploring the simple pleasures of everyday life).
